If King Trivia HQ is closed but you have a show you need to know what to do!

What do I do if the KT office is closed and I have a show?

You may be asking yourselves, “What do I do if no one is available in the office?” Well, we have some guidance for specific situations. Please see below: 


I arrived at my venue and the door is locked. No lights, no sign of people. Should I just go home?

The first thing to do is try calling the bar. You can find their phone number on the game details screen in the host app. Calling them might reveal a pre-recorded message with information about their closure. Either way, please wait 10-15 minutes and if there is still no sign of opening, please communicate it with us via the emergency line (805-380-8371) before leaving the venue. On your recap, make sure to click the "show did not happen" button, ensure that your timecard is accurate, AND send an email to RM@kingtrivia.com with the details.


I'm at my bar and they're saying they canceled/decided not to run trivia for tonight.

They very likely didn't use the proper channels of communication. All cancellations should be emailed to cancellations@kingtrivia.com prior to the day of their event. Tell them you are there and ready if they want to run the game. If they say no, please communicate it with us via the emergency line (805-380-8371) before leaving the venue. On your recap, click the "show did not happen" button, make sure that your timecard is filled out correctly, AND send an email to RM@kingtrivia.com with the details.


There are no players at my bar!

Wait 15 minutes and ask everyone who comes in if they are interested in playing. If you get even one person, that's enough to run the game. Sometimes the venue may require at least 2 teams. If after at least 30 minutes you still don't have enough for a full game, ask the bar what they would like you to do. Should this issue arise, please communicate it with us via the emergency line before leaving the venue at (805) 380-8371. If it's to go home, that's fine. On your recap, click the "show did not happen" button, ensure that your timecard is accurate, AND send an email to RM@kingtrivia.com with the details. 


I’m experiencing technical difficulties with the app!

First things first: Don’t panic! Check the app page of the knowledge base (under “troubleshooting”) for some scenarios we have seen before and ways to solve them. If the troubleshooting document doesn’t help you fix the issue, please send a quick text to the emergency line (805-380-3871) to let us know what’s going on. You will likely not get a response from us right away, so if you are stuck in the app, please continue your game by having the teams submit their answers on paper. When you submit your recap, please submit a tech support ticket by clicking the “I experienced technical difficulties” button.
