The Big Update on 7/30/2026

King Trivia is always looking to improve the experience for both the players and the hosts! On 7/30, we are releasing our next big update!

  • Player app changes
    • Players have long requested a way to view the current game scores within the app, and now they will be able to do that with the leaderboard!
    • New “round review” stage where players can see which questions they got right and wrong as the host reveals the answers.
    • Cleaner, more intuitive access to the features players need, like the team management screen, past submissions, and the aforementioned leaderboard.
    • We also took a hard look at the game interface as a whole, tweaking the overall style for a cleaner, fun aesthetic.
  • Rankings Explorer
    • We’ve introduced a brand new way to look at rankings, even when there is no league in progress! The rankings explorer allows anyone to view ranked teams based on Scores or Team Beat Average for any time period for which King Trivia has tracked scores on our website. You can further customize the rankings by state, city, or individual venues. Give it a spin at https://play.kingtrivia.com/rankings/explorer (Available on July 30th, 2026)
  • Host app
    • New answer review interface available after closing submissions. When you are ready to read the answers aloud, click “start review”. The app will display each question (along with some useful statistics) so you can send the correct answer to the players’ phones as you read them.
    • When it’s time to read the scores, we have an interface for that too! First, click “review scores”, which will pull up the score summary. Just read the scores as you normally would, then click “Update Leaderboard” to end the round and send the scores to players' phones!
    • Important note: Closing submissions no longer ends the round. You will need to complete the round review and update the leaderboard within the app before moving on to the next round.
